The Joint Military Committee 5 + 5 welcomed on Thursday Security Council Resolution 2571/2021 and its call for a ceasefire in Libya.
The committee appreciated in a statement the efforts of the United Nations and the Member States, calling for intensifying efforts to accelerate the implementation of the ceasefire.
The statement indicated that the leadership of the joint military force has been selected with its headquarters will be in Sirte, indicating that the joint force will be deployed in two areas that have been previously selected.
The committee approved the establishment of an office to deal with the file of detainees and missing persons and assigned two of its members to this task, indicating that it had contacted the executive authority to overcome the difficulties that hinder the opening of the coastal road.
The committee warned that it will name the obstructors in the event that the closure of the coastal road continues in order to take the necessary measures against them.
