Presidential election candidates call for holding the elections as soon as possible

A group of presidential election candidates issued a joint statement on Monday to emphasize national sovereignty, reject foreign interference, and respect an approved constitution by the Libyans in a public referendum.

The candidates also expressed their commitment to the civil state as an irreplaceable path for the establishment of a state of institutions and law.

They called on the relevant authorities to hold the presidential and parliamentary elections as soon as possible, calling on the High National Elections Commission to announce the final list of candidates for the presidential elections and to reveal the reasons for not holding the elections on 24 December.
