France contributes $1 million to the United Nations electoral project

The French Ambassador to Libya, Mrs. Beatrice de Hellen, and the Director of the UNDP Office in Libya, Sultan Hageev, signed an agreement under which France pledged an additional €650,000 as a contribution to the United Nations electoral project in Libya. Entitled “Promoting Elections for the Libyan People”.
With this new contribution, the total value of the French support for the United Nations electoral project amounted to €850,000 ($1 million). The latter provided €200,000 as a contribution to the project during December 2017.
The Ambassador of France during the signing ceremony of the agreement, which was organized in the city of Tripoli:
“The Libyan people have clearly expressed their desire to determine the future of their country through the democratic process … I thank the United Nations Development Program for its commitment to work with the Libyan people”, she said.
