On Thursday, a truck loaded with 1,000 bags of flour backed by the Oasis Price Balancing Fund arrived in Al-Wahat. The flour is allocated to the Jalu, Ujlah, Ajajah and Rebiya areas. The amount is not enough for two days for the bakeries allocated to them. Only after the arrival of additional flour, other areas will get, too.
Jibril said that the cities of the oases have been suffering for two months of lack of flour. This situation forced the owners of bakeries to buy flour from the black market, to reduce the size and to increase the price.
Jibril said that the quota allocated to the cities of the oases is supposed to be not less than 10000 bags to be sufficient for all the bakery in the cities of Oases and Rabia, demanding the Ministry of Economy and Supply Commodities and the interim government to expedite the provision of flour in sufficient quantities enough for the need of all bakeries.
