Third season of pigeon racing Ghadames-Ajdabiya

Members of Ajdabiya Pigeon Club have held a pigeon racing for the third consecutive season.

Pigeon enthusiasts released about 44 pigeons at sunrise near the border crossing with Algeria in Ghadames city.

The pigeons flew towards its dovecotes in Ajdabiya in east Libya. After flying a distance of more than 1050 km, the first pigeon owned by pigeon enthusiast Hussein Busahal arrived home.

The victory was considered a difficult achievement due to strong winds that impeded the course of the pigeon on its marathon journey, which lasted for ten hours.
