Workshop on protection of archeological sites and museums

The General Authority of Tourism, in cooperation with Sigma Academy for Education, Training and Human Resources Management, organized a workshop in Tripoli on Thursday, December 12th, on protection of archeological sites and museums.
The workshop was attended by a number of specialists in tourism and antiquities protection under the theme (Supporting Self-Protection of Tourism Facilities, Archeological Sites and Museums).
It included a visual presentation on the role of the General Authority of Tourism in protecting the cultural heritage.
During the workshop, four papers were presented about the historical monuments and archaeological sites (reality and challenges), the definition of self-protection methods, and the role of official state bodies and local authorities in supporting self-protection.
At the end of the workshop, the participants came up with a set of recommendations to the concerned authorities and decision makers regarding the best ways to protect historical monuments, archaeological sites and museums.
