The Public Prosecutor orders the arrest of the Minister of Culture and Knowledge Development

The Public Prosecutor has issued orders to detain the Minister of Culture and Knowledge Development, Mabrouka Toghi, on corruption charges.

Toghi is now pending an investigation on charges of abuse of power to gain personal benefits in violation of the laws and regulations, in addition to squandering public money.

The Public Prosecutor had received complaints against the minister from a number of employees of the Ministry of Culture and Knowledge Development, in which they accused her of corruption in contracts to carry out maintenance work of some building belonging to the ministry.
