The Ministry of Interior issues a statement on the assassination attempt of Bashagha

The Ministry of Interior of the Government of National Accord issued a statement regarding the assassination attempt of the Minister of Interior, Fathi Bashagha.

The Ministry confirmed that the incident took place while the minister was returning to his residence in Janzour where an armored car fired at the minister’s convoy using automatic weapons.

The statement added that the guards of the minister dealt with the car and arrested the armed group after an exchange of fire, which caused the death of an attacker and the arrest of two other attackers, in addition to the injury of one of the guards.
