Tunisia is to host first meeting of Libyan and Italian mayors

The Tunisian capital Tunis is due to host the first meeting between mayors of 24 Libyan municipalities and municipalities from Italy, within the framework of the cooperation program between the two countries.
The initiative is financed and sponsored by the Italian Ministry of Foreign Affairs and implemented by the Italian Agency for Development Cooperation in cooperation with the Italian National Association of Municipalities, and in coordination with the Libyan Ministry of Local Government and the Central Committee for Municipal Elections.
The two-year program aims to strengthen the administrative institutions of about 24 municipalities across Libya to improve the provision of basic services to all citizens and promote dialogue and cooperation between Libyan and Italian administrations and local communities.
