Russian President calls for settlement of the Libyan crisis

Russian President Vladimir Putin said on Thursday that it is necessary to direct the involved parties in the Libyan conflict to search for a settlement, stressing that developing dialogue with the countries of the Middle East is an absolute priority for Russia.
Speaking at a meeting of the Russian Foreign Ministry, Putin clarified that Russia, as a permanent member of the United Nations Security Council, intends to continue to defend the basic principles of the United Nations Charter, and non-interference in the internal affairs of other countries.
