Libya was elected as second Vice Chair of the African Union for 2022

The 35th session of the African Union (AU) Summit started in Addis Ababa on Saturday.

The Heads of State and Government of the African Union have elected Macky Sall, President of Senegal, as the new Chairperson of the African Union for the year 2022.

Libya was elected as second Vice Chair of the Union for the Northern Region.

Morocco agreed to withdraw in favor of Libya to the membership of the new bureau of the Assembly of the Heads of State and Government of the African Union for 2022, following the meeting of the Head of the Presidential Council, Mohamed Al-Menfi, and the Minister of Foreign Affairs of Morocco.
