More than 300 journalists, civil activists, and researchers signed a petition calling on the government to save the Libyan Center for Archive and Historical Studies.
The signatories said that the center had received a request from the General Authority for Endowments and Islamic Affairs to leave its headquarters, which would put the entire Libyan archive in danger as it contains the history of Libyan resistance against Italian colonialism.
The signatories called on the Government of National Accord to act urgently to confront the administrative arguments and prevent the seizure of the important headquarters of the center, so that the documents are not lost.
The center contains documents and manuscripts, in addition to written, audio and video testimonies about the Libyan history.
