Zuwara Security Directorate raids a house of irregular migrants

Zuwara Security Directorate has opened a center for temporary detention of irregular migrants who are rescued from the sea or who are arrested while trying to migrate to Europe.

The Directorate runs continuous patrols on the city’s seashore, which extends for a distance of approximately 80 km.

The media spokesman for the Directorate, Hafez Muammar, said that their forces raided a house containing migrants of Pakistani and Afghan nationalities on Wednesday, August 12.

He added that the migrants were brought to the detention center until they are referred to the competent legal authorities.
