The Minister of State for Immigration: Libya is about to sign border control agreement with Italy

The Minister of State for Immigration Affairs in the Government of National Unity, Ajdid Maatouq, has paid a visit to Sabha city in southern Libya.
Maatouq told the Libyan Cloud News Agency that his visit aims to discuss the problems of illegal immigration, the reasons, and the possible solutions.
“We are now in the process of activating the Libyan-Italian border control agreement to tackle the migration routes in the south.” He said.
For his part, the Mayor of Sabha, Ibrahim Al-Shawish, said that the people of the south are suffering from the immigration and the existence of illegal shelters in the city. Al-Shawish also added that the African migrants cross into Libya illegally, calling for steps to curb this phenomenon.
