The National Center for Disease Control announces the first COVID-19 recovery

The Director General of the National Center for Disease Control, Badr al-Din al-Najjar, has officially announced the recovery of the first case of the Coronavirus.

The announcement was made at a joint press conference with the Director of the Emergency Department of the Ministry of Health, Tawfiq Harisha, and the doctor responsible for the treatment of the Coronavirus cases, Abdulnabi al-Rais.

Al-Najjar stressed the importance of social distancing and urged people to self-isolate as a first step to reduce the spread of the virus.

He noted that the curfew might be extended for 24 hours depending on the development of the epidemiological situation.

For his part, Harisha said that the second case of COVID-19 is recovering and is waiting for the final results of the analysis.
