NOC hosts second environmental forum in Tripoli

The National Oil Corporation – NOC – organized on Tuesday, December 17, the Second Environmental Forum in Tripoli under the theme “The Environment…Reality and Future Vision.”

During the forum, the participants presented research papers that focused on air monitoring, comprehensive environmental studies, water management, confronting marine spills and waste management, in addition to the environmental management activities of Brega Oil Marketing Company in the field of pollution control.

Minister of Economy and Industry Ali al-Esawi; Director of Health, Safety and Environment at the NOC; Chairman of the General Authority of Environment and CEO of the Iron and Steel Company attended the forum.

The head of the organizing committee Salem al-Jaroushi declared to the Libyan Cloud News Agency that the forum aims to enhance cooperation between the NOC and other state institutions in the field of environmental sanitation and sustainable development. He added that the forum concluded with a number of recommendations and work programs in the management of radioactive elements and air pollution. The participants also formed a work group to follow-up the recommendations and prepare for the next forums
