Customs of the port of Al-Khums controls the container of meat and liver

The members of the customs center of the port of Al-Khums in cooperation with Al-Khums anti-smuggling and drugs department of the Customs Department controlled a refrigerated container with meat and liver coming from the Republic of India. The head of the Customs Center of the port Al-Khums maritime Colonel, Bashir Ammar, told #Libyan_Cloud_News_Agency, that based on information received by the General Directorate of Customs there was a group of containers suspected of having materials contrary on what was declared. Therefore, there has been a committee to detect these containers. Upon inspection of one of them they found a quantity of frozen meat and liver and according to its customs declaration the shipment was of Indian origin and arrived on April 28, 2019. It arrived aboard the ship “Kabila” from the port of Malta, and was imported through the company “First tower”.
The head of the Anti-Smuggling and Drug Control Section, Colonel Ahmed Atika, said that the import of liver is regulated by the decision of the economy. This is contrary, while the Food and Drug Control Department withdrew a sample of meat to be examined. The report is the limit that will determine the validity of this shipment for human consumption.
