The League of Arab States welcomed the agreement reached by the delegations of the House of Representatives and the High Council of State in Bouznika, Morocco, on 22-23 January on the state’s sovereign positions.
An official source in the General Secretariat of the Arab League told Sputnik that the league supports all Libyan national efforts in order to reach a political settlement.
The source also welcomed the agreements reached by the delegations of the House of Representatives and the High Council of State during the meetings hosted by the Egyptian government in the city Hurghada regarding the constitutional arrangements that pave the way for the elections, scheduled to take place at the end of this year.
The source expressed his confidence that this progress would contribute to resolving the Libyan crisis and push the UN-sponsored talks forward, especially with regard to the formation of the new executive authority, the unification of institutions, the implementation of the ceasefire agreement, and the start of preparations for the presidential and legislative elections.
