Agreement reached to distribute the sovereign positions to the three geographical regions of Libya

The committee in charge of selecting Libyan sovereign positions reached an agreement in Bouznika, Morocco, on Saturday on the nomination mechanism of the country’s sovereign positions.

The delegations of the House of Representatives and the High Council of State agreed to distribute the sovereign positions to the three geographical regions of Libya.

The nominees for the Central Bank of Libya and the Administrative Control Authority will be from Cyrenaica region (east) while the positions of the Supreme Court and Anti-corruption Authority will be for Fezzan region (south). Tripoli region (west) will be given the Attorney General and Audit Bureau’s positions.

The agreement will have to be ratified by both the House of Representatives and the High Council of State in full-quorum sessions.
