Calls for an investigation into the leak of COVID-19 patient’s personal information

The National Biosafety and Bioethics Committee has called for an investigation into the leak of the identity of an infected person with the Coronavirus on social media.

In a letter addressed to the director of the National Center for Disease Control and the Chairman of the Advisory Committee of the Coronavirus Pandemic, the committee stated that patients’ privacy must be respected.

It considered the leak of the personal information of a Nigerien citizen as an immoral act, which must be investigated to ensure that it does not happen again.
