Libya ranked 164 in press freedom
Libyan Cloud News Agency – Paris
Reporters Without Borders (RSF) has ranked Libya 164 out of 180 Countries in its 2020 report on press freedom in the world.
The report indicated that the media has become a party to the ongoing conflict in Libya between two governments, one in the east of the country and the other in the west.
It said that the warring parties are throwing many media actors into the quagmire of conflict, in addition to using the media as a propaganda tool. The report added that the Libyan media is paying a heavy price due to the political and security instability and that the journalists are facing an unprecedented crisis because the conflict’s political and military actors have become news censors
