An awareness week about elections held for secondary school students

An awareness week for secondary school students was held on Sunday at the headquarters of the High National Elections Commission (HNEC) in Tripoli, under the title “Promoting electoral awareness through the participation of secondary school students.”
The program, which was held in cooperation with the International Foundation for Electoral Systems (IFES), aims to educate students and motivate them to register in the voter register and exercise their political rights.
In his speech, the Chairman of the HNEC Emad Al-Sayeh said that the awareness week is an opportunity to get acquainted closely with the electoral commission, which is the body that is obligated to implement electoral processes according to the criteria that govern it.
The director of programs at IFES, Halima Belhaj, explained to the Libyan Cloud News Agency that the seven-day awareness week contains a set of interactive activities that embody a complete practical simulation of the procedures of the election process.
