UNSMIL welcomed the exchange of 35 prisoners

The United Nations Support Mission in Libya (UNSMIL) has welcomed the exchange of 35 prisoners facilitated by the 5+5 Joint Military Commission in the city of Shwairif, as part of confidence building measures agreed upon in the ceasefire agreement.

UNSMIL said in a statement that this second official exchange of prisoners between the two parties to the conflict is the result of the steadfast commitment by the Joint Military Commission to move forward with the full implementation of the ceasefire agreement.

UNSMIL called on both parties to swiftly finalize ongoing negotiations to re-open the coastal road.
