UAE Foreign Minister held discussions with the Head of UNSMIL

The Minister of Foreign Affairs and International Cooperation of the United Arab Emirates (UAE), Abdullah bin Zayed, stressed the need to support the Libyan Government of National Unity in order to achieve security and stability in the country.

During a meeting with the Head of the United Nations Support Mission in Libya (UNSMIL), Jan Kubis, in Abu Dhabi on Saturday, they discussed ways to support the Libyan authorities to prepare for the elections scheduled for next December.

The two sides also discussed ways to support the Government of National Unity to consolidate security and stability in Libya.

Bin Zayed expressed the UAE’s support for the efforts of the United Nations to stabilize the situation in Libya.
