The United States welcomed the outcomes of the ministerial meeting of Libya’s neighboring countries hosted by Algeria.

The US embassy in Libya said in a tweet that “the United States welcomes the results of the ministerial meeting of Libya’s neighboring countries as an important step in support of regional stability.”

“The United States reiterates its call for the withdrawal of all foreign forces and fighters from Libya and for holding the presidential and parliamentary elections as scheduled in December 24.” The embassy added.

The final statement of the ministerial meeting of Libya’s neighboring countries called for involving the neighboring countries of Libya in the paths of withdrawing foreign forces and mercenaries, and urged Libyan institutions to prepare the constitutional ground for holding elections on time at the end of this year.
