Italian MP: We are working to free the Italian sailors arrested in Libya
Libyan Cloud News Agency – Rome
An Italian member of parliament from the Five Star Movement said that she is in constant contact with the families of sailors who are under arrest in Libya.
She added that she is following the issue with the Italian Ministry of Foreign Affairs and our diplomatic bodies, which are making every effort to reach as soon as possible the release of fishing vessels and their crews.
The Italian lawmaker indicated that international negotiations in such cases must always be handled with the utmost caution, confirming that the sailors are fine and that they are free to stay on boats or in the house provided by the Libyan authorities.
The Libyan authorities seized two Italian fishing boats on the first of September, 35 miles north of the port of Benghazi.
