Government spokesman: Elections are the solution to Libya’s crisis

The spokesman for the Government of National Unity, Mohamed Hammouda, denied on any deal regarding the appointment of a new head of the National Oil Corporation.
In a press conference on Monday at the Prime Minister’s Office in Tripoli, he explained that the appointment of Farhat bin Qadara as a new head of the National Oil Corporation aims to solve and address the oil file and production problems.
Hammouda also denied the news related to the prisoner exchange deal or the release of the pilot Amer Al-Jaqam, pointing out that the meeting of the Joint Military Committee 5 + 5 is held periodically under the supervision of the Chief of Staff and the Supreme Commander of the Army.
He confirmed that the meetings of the committee are not coordinated by the Prime Minister of the Government of National Unity, stressing that the solution in Libya lies in holding parliamentary and presidential elections according to a constitutional basis.
