Algeria welcomes the appointment of Bathily as UN Special Representative in Libya

Algeria has welcomed the appointment of the Senegalese diplomat Abdoulaye Bathily as UN Special Representative in Libya and Head of the United Nations Support Mission in Libya (UNSMIL), expressing its readiness to cooperate closely with him in carrying out the tasks entrusted to him.

A statement issued by the Algerian Foreign Ministry said that Algeria expresses its readiness for close cooperation with Bathily in the implementation of the mission entrusted to him, calling on all Libyan parties to cooperate fully with him and to benefit from this positive development in order to achieve a collective shift that takes into account the interests of the Libyan people.
