A workshop on the role of media in elections held in Tunis

A workshop on the role of media in elections has been held in the Tunisian capital, Tunis.
A number of university professors, journalists, and representatives of the Central Commission of Municipal Council Elections and the High National Elections Commission attended the workshop.
The participants discussed the role of media in the various stages of the electoral process and the importance of providing impartial media coverage to ensure the credibility of elections.
The Chairman of the High National Elections Commission, Imad Al-Sayeh, opened the workshop with a speech in which he emphasized the role of media as an important partner for the commission in preparing for the upcoming elections next December.
Trainer Sabri Al-Sankari said that the main goal of the workshop is to create and organize the rules and the relationship between the electoral administration and the media, which is the first partner through its institutions, channels and social media.
The workshop took place under the framework of BRIDGE initiative which brings together the Australian Electoral Commission (AEC), International IDEA, International Foundation for Electoral Systems (IFES), the United Nations Development Programme (UNDP) and the United Nations Electoral Assistance Division (UNEAD).
