Migrants’ bodies wash ashore in Surman city
Libyan Cloud News Agency – Surman
The head of Red Crescent in Surman city, Nuri Juma, called on government to find a solution to bury the irregular migrants’ bodies that washed ashore in the city
Juma said that two bodies have been on the beach since last week, without any action from the concerned authorities, noting that the minimum requirements for work for Red Crescent workers are not available with the increasing number of cases.
He added that the municipal council had provided a plot of land to be used as a cemetery, and now it is necessary to form a specialized committee to deal with the bodies, especially with the repeated complaints by citizens who go to the beach.
The Red Crescent in Surman city has recorded eight deaths of migrants in attempts to reach Europe.
