113 irregular migrants were rescued north of the city of Al-Khums

On Thursday night, a patrol of the Coast Guard’s Central Sector, working on board the boat, rescued 113 irregular migrants, including 6 children, 19 women and 88 men of different African nationalities.
They are citizens of Sierra Leone, Cameroon, South Africa, Guinea and Conakry, Somalia. They were on board a rubber boat 50 kilometers north of the city of Al-Khums when the coast guard rescued them.
During their return, the boat (Qamens) was disrupted. At 4 am they were reached to the landing point of the migrants of Al-Khums where humanitarian and medical assistance was provided. They were detained by the International Medical Corps, Médecins Sans Frontières and Al-Taharalzawi.
Their delivery was delayed by the illegal immigration control agency and they remained at the landing point until Thursday afternoon and were transferred to the Migrant Shelter Center in Tajoura.
