Russian Foreign Ministry: The situation in Libya is going in the right direction

Russian Deputy Foreign Minister Sergei Ryabkov said that his country believes that the situation in Libya is going in the right direction thanks to international resolutions.

Commenting on the Second Berlin Conference on Libya on Wednesday, Ryabkov added that the Russian participation in the Libyan settlement had a positive effect and should not be questioned.

He stated that the presence of Russia as a major power with traditional influence and traditional relations with the Libyans is very beneficial to the political process.

He concluded that there is an opportunity today to achieve peace and stability in Libya, but it has to be done systematically with consistent efforts on all sides.
