US Secretary of State names the Head of the National Oil Corporation a hero

The United States ambassador to Libya, Richard Norland, congratulated the Head of the National Oil Corporation, Mustafa Sanallah, for being named by US Secretary of State, Antony Blinken, a hero in the fight against corruption in Libya.

Blinken considered Sanallah’s transparent management of the oil and gas sector as the reason for the steady increases in production.  He said that Sanallah kept the National Oil Corporation a neutral and technocratic institution that works for the benefit of all Libyans.

Ambassador Norland presented the Medal of Honor virtually to Sanallah, saying he will hand it in person to Sanallah at the nearest opportunity.
