AU Commissioner for Peace and Security met with UN envoy to Libya

The Commissioner for Peace and Security of the African Union, Smaїl Chergui, held talks with the UN Secretary-General’s envoy to Libya, Jan Kubis.

According to a press statement by Chergui, the two sides agreed on the need for closer cooperation between the African and UN organizations to support the political solution in Libya as stipulated in the outcomes of the Berlin conference.

They called for the necessity of avoiding multiple tracks to settle the Libyan crisis.
