Libyan boxer wins gold medal in Sudan

The Libyan Boxing Federation has held a ceremony in Tripoli to honor the boxer Abdelbaset Bel Khir who won the gold medal in Sudan Lightweight Boxing Championship.

A number of former boxers, coaches and fans attended the ceremony. This Libyan victory is the first in 60 years when the late boxer Albadri Moftah won the Arab Boxing Championship in Morocco.

Boxing competitions have resumed in Libya after a hiatus of more than 40 years.
