The 82nd anniversary of the founding of the Libyan army

A celebration was held at Martyrs’ Square in Tripoli on Tuesday to commemorate the 82nd anniversary of the founding of the Libyan army.
The three members of the Presidential Council Mohamed Al-Menfi, Moussa Al-Koni, and Abdullah Al-Lafi, Prime Minister and Minister of Defense Abdul Hamid Al-Dabaiba, and Chief of General Staff Lieutenant-General Mohamed Al-Haddad attended the celebration.
The celebration included military parades by various army units.
Al-Dabaiba said in a speech that the Libyan army is the protector of all Libyan soil and the defender of its sovereignty, explaining that free and fair elections must be held to achieve the dream and hopes of the Libyan people for a decent life. He added that the Libyan army will not cause new wars that may destroy the country, asking all Libyan people to unite to achieve stability security and peace.
For his part, Al-Menfi indicated in his speech that time has come to establish a united army, expressing the desire of the Presidential Council to create trust between the General Staff in the east, west and south of the country.
