A delegation from United Nations agencies visits Jikharra town

A delegation from United Nations agencies visited Jikharra town in southeastern Libya and held discussion with its municipal council and civil society institutions.
The delegation is headed by the Director of the United Nations Office for the Coordination of Humanitarian Affairs in Libya and included representatives from UNICEF, the International Organization for Migration, the High Commissioner for Refugees, the World Food Program and the World Health Organization,
Members of the delegation and representatives of the town held an extensive meeting to assess the humanitarian and development needs in the town, in addition to the joint cooperation in the future for the interest of the region and its citizens.
The Director of the United Nations Office for the Coordination of Humanitarian Affairs in Libya, Justin Brady, said that their visit to the southeast of Libya, which is the first of its kind, aims to assess the humanitarian and development needs in the region and the assistance that can be provided.
