The HNEC started registering candidates for the parliamentary and presidential elections

The High National Elections Commission (HNEC) started on Monday, November 08, registering candidates for the parliamentary and presidential elections, due to take place on December 24.
In a press conference, the Head of the HNEC, Imad Al-Sayeh, said that the deadline for receiving the applications of presidential candidates is November 22, while the HNEC will continue receiving candidates’ applications for the House of Representatives until December 07.
He added that applications for presidential candidates will be received only in Tripoli, Benghazi, and Sabha, while parliamentary candidates’ applications are received in all the electoral offices of the HNEC across the country.
Al-Sayeh also announced that the HNEC will start distributing 2.8 million voter cards from Monday, November 08, to December 28 in 1906 election centers across the country.
