4 kg of cocaine seized in Tina area west of Tripoli

The investigation office of the General Directorate of Combating Drugs and Psychotropic Substances of the Ministry of Interior of the Government of National Accord GNA, arrested a gang of African nationalities on Saturday, and seized four kilogramms of raw cocaine rapped in the so-called “Balaha”, little baloons in the shape and size of dates.
The Director of the Department of Relations, Colonel Ibrahim Al-Mannai, said that the Director General of the Department of Narcotics and Psychotropic Substances, Faisal Bin Kafu, ordered maximum readiness to fight drug traffickers and promoters. Thanks to this readiness the department was able to get hold of the cocaine and its traffickers, the spokesman added. He explained, that the investigation made a great effort, despite lack of access to areas.
He said that the drugs came from Brazil. It was then taken to Nigeria by air, later to Niger and to the south of Libya by traffickers of Nigerian nationality.
The traffickers will now be prosecuted in Tripoli.
