The UN envoy visited the Presidential Council

The members of the Presidential Council, Musa Al-Koni and Abdullah Al-Lafi, met on Wednesday in Tripoli with the Head of the United Nations Support Mission in Libya, Jan Kubis, to review the mission’s work and its efforts to achieve stability in Libya.
Kubis praised the efforts of the Presidential Council to unify state institutions and establish the High National Reconciliation Commission, stressing the readiness of the UN mission and the international community to support the Presidential Council and the Government of National Unity to hold the elections next December.
The UN envoy announced that the legal committee emanating from the Libyan Political Dialogue Forum is close to announcing its report on the constitutional basis for the elections.
For their part, Al-Koni and Al-Lafi affirmed the Presidential Council’s keenness and adherence to implement the requirements of the stage to hold of elections on time. They called on the international community to play its role in supporting the Military Committee 5+5 to carry out its tasks as required.
