The Finance Minister of the Government of National Accord, Faraj Bumtari, announced on Tuesday, February 11, his ministry’s reform program that aims to improve the fiscal policy and the national economy.
In a press conference in Tripoli, Bumtari said that the reform program had been classified into four levels: The legislative level, the structural level, the system and infrastructure level, and the human resources level.
He added that the ministry seeks to reduce the burden on the state’s public budget by establishing a new department to manage projects between the public and private sectors.
He noted that the new department will start working during the next week in order to discuss government projects in the areas of infrastructure and housing.
Bumatari stated that another department had been established to finance state projects with Islamic bonds in accordance with Law No. 4 for the year 2016.
“These projects are expected to last from three to five years,” he concluded.
