Libyan Prime Minister arrived in Malta on Friday

The Prime Minister of the Government of National Unity, Abdul Hamid Al-Dabaiba, held talks with the Maltese Prime Minister, Robert Abela, in Valetta on Friday.
Both sides discussed a number of issues of common interest and ways to develop and strengthen cooperation between both countries.
Al-Dabaiba and Abela held a joint press conference following the talks. Al-Dabaiba said that the two countries had agreed to increase the volume of investments, and issue a number of measures that contribute to facilitating residency, visas and various banking procedures.
He added that the two countries signed an agreement regarding the opening of the airspace after the completion of the preparation of the required protocols.
According to Al-Dabaiba, a meeting was held between the Ministers of Interior, Justice and Defense to discuss a number of important files regarding the Libyan community and addressing some files related to smuggling.
Both sides also agreed to hold the Libyan-Maltese Joint High Committee and work on the activation of the Libyan Capacity Building Center located in Malta to conduct specialized training in various fields in cooperation with Maltese institutions.
