Italy renewed support for the Libyan political process

Italian Foreign Minister, Luigi Di Maio, renewed his country’s support for the political process in Libya, the planned elections on December 24, and the withdrawal of mercenaries and foreign fighters from Libya.

This came during his meeting with the Prime Minister of the Government of National Unity, Abdel Hamid Al-Dabaiba, in Tripoli on Thursday.

Di Maio said on social media platforms that the meeting, which took place on the sidelines of the Libya Stabilization Conference, also included discussions on bilateral cooperation between the two countries.
