A new initiative for national reconciliation

The Council of Libyan Notables for Reconciliation has presented a new initiative for national reconciliation due to the deadlock in the political track and the electoral process.

In its initiative, the Council called the political rivals to avoid acts of incitement and refrain from using force to take or stay in power.

It called on the parliament and the High Council of State to resume negotiations on a new ground through the formation of a joint committee from outside the two sides to discuss formation of a new interim authority whose main task is to prepare for the elections on a specific date.

The Council also called for the formation of a neutral committee from all Libyan regions to oversee the results of the committee formed by the parliament and the High Council of State.
