A joint press conference by the Libyan, German, French and Italian foreign ministers in Tripoli

The Minister of Foreign Affairs of the National Unity Government, Najla Al-Manqoush, held a joint press conference in Tripoli on Thursday with the foreign ministers of Germany, France and Italy.

Al-Manqoush emphasized the need for the removal of foreign forces from Libya, explaining that she had discussed with her three counterparts ways of facilitating the issuance of visas from inside Libya and expediting the return of foreign embassies and consulates.

Al-Manqoush explained that the regional stability of Libya reflects positively on the neighboring countries, including Europe, and that the principle of national sovereignty is a non-negotiable basis.

The German Foreign Minister said that the exit of mercenaries is necessary to reach the elections next December, stressing the importance of the ceasefire and the commitment to the arms embargo on Libya.

The French Foreign Minister said that Libya’s stability is important to the Mediterranean region, calling for the need to reopen the coastal road so that all foreign forces can withdraw.

The Italian Foreign Minister expressed his satisfaction with the reopening of Libyan oil exports, pledging to continue their commitment to monitoring the ceasefire and arms embargo on Libya.
