Proposal to use a navy ship as quarantine site

The Chief of Staff of the Libyan Navy has submitted a proposal to the Emergency Committee of the Ministry of Defense regarding the use of Ibn Auf ship, currently moored at the port of Tripoli Naval Base, to receive and treat cases of Coronavirus.

The spokesperson for the Navy, Brigadier Masoud Abdelsamad, told the Libyan Cloud News Agency that the ship has a capacity of 210 beds, refrigerators, stores and a small clinic.

He explained that the ship can dock at any port as required to be used as a quarantine site, stressing that it can be used as a second line after hospitals.
