A protest against opening a landfill site in Tripoli

The residents of the neighborhoods of Hai Andul, Assalam, Alsarraj, Gout Ashaal, Aldrebi, and Sidi Salim in Tripoli held a protest after Jumu’ah prayer on Friday, January 24.

The residents protested the government’s plan to open a landfill site at the “April 7 camp”.

In a statement, the residents said that the proposed landfill site is located in residential areas and it will have negative and health effects on the residents.

The resident held the authorities responsible for the consequences.

They also threatened to escalate their protests if the landfill site decision was not revoked.
