The first shipment of Sputnik V vaccine arrived in Tripoli

The first shipment of Russian Sputnik V vaccine arrived at Mitiga Airport in Tripoli on Sunday.

The shipment contains over 100 thousand doses, according to the Ministry of Health.

According to sources from the Ministry, The doses will be stored in the cold storage units of Zawia Street Hospital and the Medical Supply Department.

The same sources confirmed that the first target of vaccination is the sick and the elderly. They will be vaccinated inside the storage facilities in Tripoli and Benghazi due to the availability of refrigerants and the difficulty of transporting the vaccine, which needs cooling as low as 20 degrees below zero.
