South African variant of Coronavirus discovered in Libya

The National Center for Disease Control announced the detection of the South African strain of the Covid-19 virus in Libya.
The center said in a statement that its branch in Misrata city had studied 32 positive samples using special PCR testing methods obtained from the Turkish Health Ministry.
The study showed that two samples were infected with UK Strain – SARS-CoV-2 /B.1.1.7, while 15 sample were infected with South African Strain – SARS-CoV-2 /B.1.351.
