The healthcare workers at isolation centers in Tripoli threaten to suspend work after the Eid al-Adha holiday

The healthcare workers and administrators of the Airport Road Isolation Center and other centers in Tripoli called on the Minister of Health to provide urgent help due to a severe shortage of medical supplies, sterilization and medicines.

In a statement, they also demanded the government to pay their salaries, which they have not received for more than seven months, stressing that if their dues are not paid; they will stop working after the Eid al-Adha holiday.

The director of the Airport Road Isolation Center, Ashraf Al-Waer, told the Libyan Cloud News Agency that despite the weak capabilities, they were able to continue working.

Al-Waer explained that the health workers at the isolation centers cannot work in any private clinics, and therefore they do not have any other source of income. He indicated that some workers were infected with the Coronavirus while others have passed away.

Al-Waer concluded that there are seven cases receiving treatment at the center; four of them are in the intensive care unit, appealing to the government to intervene quickly as the current situation of the center is dangerous, as he put it.
